on Friday. Just remember to check in at
the office.
May 22nd:

make sure you send a sack lunch with your child that day as we will eating at
the museum. Thanks!
May 26th:
No school, Memorial Day!
Just a reminder that we are done with formal spelling
tests. I am continuing assessments with
the kids for the remainder of the year.
Due to our busy week with a field trip and animal projects we are not
going to have any homework outside of reading 20-30 minutes each night. I hope this helps if your child is still
putting the finishing touches on their animal projectsJ Have a great night!

Our Next Field Trip!
The Third Grade Classes at Valley View will
be going on a field trip to the Van
Andel Museum on May 22, 2014!
The students will have a guided tour at the
museum called:
Anishinabek: The People of this Place. This
program will support our curriculum for Social Studies. Students will learn
about the history and culture of the Native Americans of our area. It is a very
informative and interesting program!
Students will also have time to explore the
museum. They will be able to see the animal habitats and furniture city among
other exhibits. Students will be able to ride the carousel and visit the gift
shop as well.
The trip will take place during the regular
school day. Students will need to bring a sack lunch with a drink and wear
comfortable shoes. Cameras are also a great idea. We will return to school
around 2:30 PM.
The cost for each student is $5.00. This
includes the museum entrance fee as well as the carousel ride. If you are
interested in chaperoning, please let your child’s teacher know. Thank you in
advance for your support!
