What
a wonderful first week and two days of school!
I have had a great time getting to know your children and many of
you. It was nice seeing so many of you at
our curriculum night. I look forward to
a fantastic year!
Today
your child will bring home a weekly report.
Please look it over, sign and return.
This is meant to help inform you of your child’s weekly behavior and
academic progress. I hope that you find
this helpful.
Math:
We
have already started unit 1 in math. We
are reviewing subtraction, number grids, finding numbers around us, telling
time and place value. Next week we will
be working on graphing, and name collection boxes. Our online math should be
set up by next week. I will send home
passwords with the kids when it’s ready to go.J
Language
Arts:
We
discussed several read alouds that involve the theme of friends, and really
looking at important qualities that we believe good friends possess. We started notebooks, which we do every
morning when we arrive. The children
have many fun and interesting things to write about, I love reading their
stories!
Computer
Lab:
We
started computer lab and have done some testing. I know the kids look forward to starting our
keyboarding skills soon!
Spelling:
Next
week the kids will take a pre-test, and spelling tests will begin the following
week.
I
am in need of one more room parent. If
you are interested, please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you ahead of time for your
consideration!
