Math: We just
finished unit 5 and are starting unit 6.
This unit we will be learning about, lines, line segments, rays,
geometry, symmetry, and degrees of turns.
We are also continuing multiplication and division practice. We will continue doing timed tests until the
end of the year and celebrate in May with a Sundae party!
Science: We are finishing
our unit on forces in motion. The
children had a great time and we learned through many experiments about forces,
motion, friction, inertia, and gravity.
Language Arts: We are
working on opinion writing. It’s fun to
hear the different ideas and thoughts that the children have. This also is helpful in reminding the children
that we are all different with different ideas and opinions, and that’s a good
thing! We discussed that it’s important
to listen to all sides of things to understand others. This tied in well with learning about Martin
Luther King Jr. today. We read a book
about his speech and read informational books about him.
