Sledding

Our class has worked hard to earn a reward and they voted on sledding next week.  We are planning on next week Friday afternoon, February 5th around 1:30-2.    If you would like to drop off a sled early, I will leave the classroom unlocked all next week.  Please just make sure that your child's name is on their sled.  Also if you don't have a sled, no need to worry.  We usually have many sleds that have room for 2-3 riders.  Looking forward to a fun day with the kids!  Thank you for all that you do and have a fabulous weekend!

Valentine's Day Questions

There are a few questions that I have had looking forward to our Valentine's party on Friday, February 12th.  We do exchange Valentines, so if you could please send in a Valentine for each student by the 12th that would be fabulous!  If you are unable to buy them, let me know and I can send home supplies for your child to make them.  Also the children have asked to bring in their own decorated box from home.  Please feel free to be as creative as you would like.  If your child forgets, I will have bags that they may decorate here.  Thank you so much for your cooperation and please feel free to let me know if you have any questions or concerns.  Have a wonderful day!

This Week

Our week is a busy and fun one!  A huge thank you to everyone who signed up to send in things for our needy families this holiday season.  If you didn't get a chance to, there are still a few slots available.  If you could send all items by this Wednesday that would be wonderful.  I will be delivering the items after school.

Friday we will enjoy watching the Polar Express, wearing pajamas, and ending our day with caroling.  No spelling this week, enjoy!

Christmas Concert

Mrs. Saincome put together a fantastic Holiday concert with our beautiful children.  Here are a few pictures that I took.  Feel free to right click and save if you would like to keep one of the pictures:)

Music Program Info

Dear Parents,

Our Valley View music program is Friday, December 4^th at the Rockford High School Auditorium.  We are all so excited to show you what we have been learning!

Program times: 2^nd Grade 6:00

                  3^rd Grade 6:50 

4^th/5^th Grade 7:45

• Please remember when you are arriving for the later show that the first program is still in progress and will need to empty from the auditorium before you will be able to enter. 
• Arrive at the auditorium about 15 minutes before show time.
• Children should not be left unattended in the band and choir room at any time.

• Make sure your child uses the restroom before going to the line up rooms.

• Dress up clothes for the performance, please.
• Keep your child’s coat with you during the show.
• Cameras are welcome, but food and drink are not allowed in the auditorium.

• Please turn off pagers and cell phones for the performance.
• Make sure the teacher knows you have your child before leaving.

It's hard to believe that it is already November!  I am beyond blessed to have the opportunity to work with your children and can't express how much I appreciate your support and kindness!  I hope you all enjoy the rest of the week off and have the chance for some rest and relaxation.

2^nd and 3^rd grade families,

I hope you are getting excited for the Christmas program on December 4, we sure are!  Our music program is in need of 100 flashlights for our Christmas concert finale!  If you are willing to donate a flashlight or batteries for this concert it would be greatly appreciated!  I have 30 that I purchased at the Dollar Store, the flashlights that require three triple A batteries are the best and the batteries that the Dollar store carries work just great!  After we use these for the concert we have many uses for them in our music class as well and will benefit from them for the rest of this school year and beyond!

Also we will once again have Secret Santa shopping.  Our class is signed up to go Wednesday, December 9th after lunch.  If you would like to have your child shop send money that day and a list of who to shop for always works best.
