Technical issues

Happy Earth Day! I hope you all enjoyed the day. We had fun learning and discussing things we can do to help our Earth. The children all had awesome behavior and did a great job with our activities. We also need to turn in pledge money for the 24 minute relay tomorrow. I am adding $.50 to each child's pledge sheet to help make sure everyone has the opportunity to participate in this meaningful and special event. We also do a third grade lunch to help raise money for Relay for Life. I just sent a note home today asking for food and monetary donations. Thanks again for your help, I truly appreciate it. The school e-mail and computers had issues today, so if you are trying to reach me please call or send a note. Hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow!

Welcome Back!

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful and well deserved Spring Break. The weather is actually starting to cooperate...somewhat!
Science: We are having so much fun in our living organisms unit. We have learned about the different parts of plants, how plants survive, and what makes a plant a plant. We had a great time walking around the school looking at different plants and creating questions. We will move from plants to animals very soon. I know they are very excited to start their animal research projects that we will be doing here at school.
Math: We just finished the end of unit 8 and will be moving into unit 9 next week. Expect to see more multiplication practice and the start of multiplying double digits.
Language Arts: We did many fun activities this week writing about a visualizing, reading and illustrating a chapter book in an hour, and focusing on our grammar.
The children did a wonderful job on their biographies. Our next mission is to write and publish our auto biographies.

A special thanks to Laura Bargwell, Katrina Burger, and Carol Murphy for helping with the candy sale. We did great selling our Ring Pops. After talking with the children, we are going to order some new books from scholastic and buy an electric pencil sharpener. Thanks so much for all of your support!
