Time is going so quickly...I can’t believe that it is already May! We have a very busy month ahead and I can’t wait. I absolutely LOVE this time of year. While it’s busy, I also see tremendous growth in the children’s reading and writing. I am so impressed with how hard they have been working and their enthusiasm towards school.
If you would like to join us for the third grade lunch Wednesday, please feel free. I ask volunteers to come at 11 to help set up a table, put food out and grill hot dogs. Thank you ahead of time to all of you that are donating items and/or helping out. I can’t express enough how much I appreciate your help and support!
Language Arts: We have enjoyed the read aloud “Circle of Gold”, which is a wonderful book about a young girl and her love for her family and what she does for her mom on Mother’s Day. Speaking of Mother’s Day, we will be doing some fun projects this week that I think you’ll love!
Math: We are quickly ending unit 9. The children had a blast learning different ways to multiply double digits. Be ready to hear about the lattice method in this week’s homework.
Science: We are studying and observing living organisms. Our crayfish are very interesting and shy creatures. We have snails coming soon!
Spelling: We are currently working in unit 27, focusing on words with r controlled vowels. It’s hard to believe that we only have 5 units left and then we finish off the year with a spelling bee in our room the last week of school.
